Making Art is What We Do.
The Proof Is in Our Numbers.
- More than 250 events each year
- 20,000 audience members
- More than 30 guests artists
- 4 fully-mounted mainstage theatre productions and many more laboratory productions annually
- Over 20 different musical ensembles, open to majors and non-majors
The only number that really matters is one. That is you!
Our Students on Performance Opportunities
"As for performance, there really are no limits on the amount you can perform. There always seems to be an audience, which definitely can't be said for most music institutions." — Alex Fowler, Cello Performance
"The best advice I got when I arrived here my first semester was to audition for everything. Our professors teach us the techniques and give us the tools in the classroom, but that's not enough - we need to apply them in our work. By the end of my freshman year I had added two mainstage productions, a graduate workshop, an undergraduate workshop, and two student films to my resume." - Sanam Hashemi, Theatre Performance
"One of the biggest opportunities I have in our music department is in performance — even as a freshman, I had ample chances to perform." — Travis Whaley, Piano Performance, Composition, and German
"My favorite moment from being a music minor was being able to come together with the majors to work on productions. There is no better feeling than to feel the energy from the audience and drown in the applause!" — Rachel Van Meter, Broadcast Journalism and Finance with Music Minor
Not Just for Majors
We believe the performing arts are for everyone. Many of our productions and ensembles hold open auditions, for students who aren't majoring in the performing arts, or local residents just looking for a creative outlet.
