What gives you most satisfaction as a teacher?

My favorite thing about teaching is seeing the "light bulb" go on in our students, particularly in the area of creativity. It is apparent that they are discovering something new, something about themselves that they perhaps never encountered before. It is a great satisfaction to me as a teacher if I can guide and help them discover this latent talent, which may determine new pathways in their lives.

Something Unexpected:

My favorite hobby is sailing. I have a sailboat on Smith Mountain Lake, and the opportunity to let the wind be your guide is a way to momentarily blow all the academic cobwebs out of my head.
