What is your favorite place on campus? Why?

I love the grassy areas around War Memorial Chapel, especially in the spring. It's a great place to sit in the grass and eat lunch, enjoying the beautiful spring weather!

What is the most satisfying or rewarding moment of your artistic process?

For me, the most satisfying part of my artistic process is in performance with other musicians, in a duo or chamber music setting.  There is a definite thrill involved with working towards a common goal for a particular piece (communicating the particular gestures of a specific piece of music), and more specifically, communicating what cannot be put into words through a process that is part hard work in rehearsal and part instinct in the moment.  There is an intuition that kicks in when you have great working relationships with other musicians - you are able to predict the slight changes in performance that give it spontaneity and life in live performance, and that part of the process is immensely satisfying.
