Vernon Burnsed

Professor - Music Education

Vernon Burnsed teaches undergraduate and graduate music education and research courses, advises all music education majors, and works closely with public school music personnel in field experiences for music education students.

He is also the Director of the Virginia Tech String Project, a string music education program.

What is your favorite place on campus? Why?

My favorite place is the Moss Arts Center because of the quality sound.

What do you most enjoy about your work?

I most enjoy the VT String Project and the Music Education Lab Ensemble.

What gives you the most satisfaction as a teacher?

I get the most satisfaction out of seeing my students teach really well, and to see the growth in the string project student performance skill.
