Location: 135 College Ave.

Since 1998, the Lyric Theatre has operated a not-for-profit movie theatre and community center in the heart of downtown Blacksburg, Virginia.

The movie theatre has a seating capacity of 477, which includes the balcony seating.

The building was constructed in 1929 and opened on April 17, 1930, the Lyric Theatre is a blend of Art Deco and Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, designed by Roanoke architect Louis Phillipe Smithey.

One of the theatre's most notable architectural features is the Comedy and Tragedy masks on the building's facade.

Throughout the year, they offer independent and foreign films on a regular weekly basis and a variety of live music, theatre, and other events as part of the Live At The Lyric series. The School of Performing Arts uses it regularly for music and cinema events.
