Fall Choir Showcase

Anne and Ellen Fife Theatre in the Moss Arts Center | Music

October 22, 2017 at 4:00pm

The Chamber Singers, Tech Men, and Women’s Chorus share the stage for an afternoon of inspiring an entertaining harmony in this School of Performing Arts performance.

The Chamber Singers will perform an acapella version of Bruno Mars "Uptown Funk" and Renaissance motets by William Byrd and Josquin des Prez .

Sydney Guillaume's "Tchaka" will be performed by The Chamber Singers with members of the VT percussion studio. Tchaka is one of the most popular meals in Haitian cuisine. It's a 'melting pot' - a tasty mélange of different food products... Likewise, Haitian folkflore consists of a huge variety of rhythms and dances that when mixed together give birth to extraordinary works."

Tech Men will be performing a medley of favorite tunes from Leonard Bernstein's "West Side Story" - ending with the lively "Gee, Officer Krupke."

Women's Chorus will perform a wonderful variety of music, including pieces in Hungarian and Korean.
