The Jamtastics “Friday Night Out Concert”

The Virginia Tech/Town of Blacksburg Summer Arts Festival 2017 is extremely proud to bring back the great sounds of The Jamtastics for our second Friday Night Out Concert of the season!! 

The Jamtastics is a group that originated in the New River Valley and is dedicated and true to the groove.  The members have rich backgrounds in music that span decades of influence.  Some major contributors to their art are:  Grover Washington Jr., Marcus Miller, Marvin Gaye, Al Jareau, Anita Baker, Earth Wind and Fire, Steve Gadd, Chic Corea, and many other fantastic artists!  Because of their different influences in music, The Jamtastics are able to perform music from across  genres such as jazz, funk, soul, R&B, and more.  Members of the band have performed with artists such as:  The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Percy Sledge, Bob Mintzer, Allen Vizutti and others.  

The members include:  Tom Hearn (drums), Rick Hendricks (bass), Milton Eddie (guitar),  Janet Longerbeam (saxophone and keyboards), and Tony Conner (vocalist).

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, picnics, and families for a warm summer evening of music on the Virginia Tech Campus in Blacksburg, Virginia!!!  (Rainsite:  Old Dominion Ballroom, Squires Student Center.)
