MFA in Theatre: Stage Management

Our program provides professional training for a career in stage management in the ever-evolving field of professional theatre in the United States.

Curriculum

Our program focuses on developing students for professional stage management employment through the study and practical application of solutions-based thinking and effective communication methods.

Course topics can include:

  • Communication theory
  • Conflict resolution
  • Leadership styles and methods
  • Management strategies

Each student admitted will work with a primary advisor in a one-on-one studio environment over the three-year period.  Path of study is a combination of classroom and production assignments.

To complete the degree, successful completion of a minimum of 60 hours of course credit is required.  The program is designed to be completed in three years.

All accepted students receive an assistantship and full tuition waiver.  To maintain assistantship support, students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours each semester.
