Come join the VT Voice Faculty for an afternoon of ice-breakers, warm-ups, and more info than you could possibly need! 

Events include voice and body work, a do’s-and-dont’s for a successful college audition, and a masterclass opportunity. 

Guest alumnus Jonathan Elmore, tenor, will give a brief concert and join a panel of faculty, an advisor/recruiter, current students and recent grads to answer your questions about the music student life at VT and beyond. 

Please join the VT alum Jonathan Elmore for the first annual Hokie Voice Day Alumni Recital. Jonathan will perform a selection of operatic arias, Eric Coates' beguiling song cycle Mill o'Dreams  and a bouquet of Italian melodies by Paolo Tosti. Professor of piano Richard Masters accompanies from the piano.

Tenor, Jonathan Elmore, hails from Covington, Virginia, and currently resides in Bloomington, Indiana. Jonathan’s role credits include: Ralph Rackstraw (H.M.S. Pinafore), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), and Ferrando (Cosí fan tutte). His scene and chorus credits include: Chorus/Guillot (Eugene Onegin), Fritz (L’Amico Fritz), and Roméo (Roméo et Juliette). Jonathan was a First Place winner of the Great Composers Competition International – Best Grieg Performance in 2020. Upcoming engagements include a recital at Virginia Tech for VT Voice Day and the role of Ouf 1er in IU’s production of Chabrier’s L’Étoile this fall. Jonathan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance from Virginia Tech, where he studied with Brian Thorsett. Jonathan also recently attended Music Academy of the West as a Studio Artist. He is currently finishing his Master of Music degree at Indiana University under the tutelage of Heidi Grant Murphy.
